Cottage Cheese Fruit Pizza

This Cottage Cheese Fruit Pizza is exactly what we want in a sweet bite: creamy, chewy, fresh, and just a little bit nostalgic. It brings the energy of a classic fruit pizza – soft cookie crust, creamy layer, and a rainbow of fresh fruit – but with a quiet high-protein twist that makes it a little more nourishing and a whole lot more satisfying.

Here’s what makes this version different: both the cookie base and the frosting are made with blended cottage cheese. The result is a fruit pizza that’s just as soft, sweet, and snackable as the original – only now it has actual staying power.

Yes, There’s Cottage Cheese in the Crust – and It Works

We’re not talking about a dry, oat-y healthified crust here. The cottage cheese sugar cookie crust is soft, slightly chewy, and just sweet enough – like the perfect hybrid of a sugar cookie and a shortbread.

Whipping cottage cheese into the dough gives it a subtle richness and extra moisture without needing a ton of butter. You still get that classic cookie base vibe, but with a lighter feel and a little extra protein baked right in.

We love this crust because:
– It holds its shape, but stays tender.
– It’s easy to mix up – no chill time required.
– It’s sturdy enough to slice and serve, even with toppings.

The Frosting Is Cottage Cheese Too – But You’d Never Know

Let’s talk frosting. Classic fruit pizza usually leans on cream cheese, sometimes sweetened sour cream, or even a cool-whip situation. We’re doing things differently – whipped cottage cheese, a little vanilla, and a hint of maple syrup or honey for balance.

Whipped up in a blender or food processor, the cottage cheese becomes silky smooth and creamy – like a thick, tangy spread that still feels light. It’s not overly sweet or heavy, which lets the fruit shine. But it still gives you that creamy layer you expect on fruit pizza.

It also stays creamy in the fridge without getting gloopy or weepy.
So if you’re making this ahead for brunch or prepping components for later, you’re in good hands.

How to Build a Cottage Cheese Fruit Pizza

It all comes together in three easy parts:

  1. Make the crust. Blend cottage cheese until smooth and mix it into a simple cookie dough. Press into a pan and bake until just golden.
  2. Whip the frosting. Blend more cottage cheese with vanilla and a touch of sweetener until smooth and creamy.
  3. Top with fruit. Any fresh fruit works – we love strawberries, kiwi, mango, blueberries, raspberries… whatever’s in season or in your fridge.

Let it chill for 30 minutes before adding the frosting and slicing – that’s the sweet spot for getting clean, satisfying slices.

When to Make It

This Cottage Cheese Fruit Pizza works almost anywhere.
– Brunch? Yes.
– Make-ahead snack? Absolutely.
– A light, feel-good dessert? 100%.
– Shower or party treat that looks cute and colorful on a table? Perfect.

You can make the crust and frosting in advance and assemble it just before serving – or build the whole thing, chill it in the fridge, and bring it out when you’re ready. It holds up surprisingly well.

Why We Keep Coming Back to This One

We love dessert, but we also love feeling good after dessert.
This fruit pizza gives you soft cookie edges, creamy center, juicy fresh fruit, and a little bit of nostalgia – but with enough protein to actually keep you full.

It’s easy, customizable, and sneakily balanced – the kind of thing you make once and immediately start dreaming up different versions of.

(Stone fruit in summer? Yes. Pomegranate and clementine in winter? Also yes.)
